MusicStrands closes A round to go Mobile

MusicStrands, Inc. announces today that it has closed its first round of institutional investment with
Debaeque Venture Capital. The funds will sustain company growth and help strengthen
MusicStrands´ position in the mobile sector. MusicStrands develops social recommendation
technologies to help people discover and enjoy music, through Internet, mobile devices and digital
TV.
"We are pleased to welcome Debaeque as lead investors in our A round. This financing will provide
us with the initial resources to accelerate our expansion in the digital music market" notes Derek
Reisfield, Chairman of MusicStrands.
MusicStrands is led by an industry renowned management team, which includes Derek Reisfield
(MarketWatch founder and former chairman, and CBS New Media former President), Dr. Andreas
Weigend (Amazon.com former chief scientist), and scientific entrepreneur Dr. Francisco J. Martin
as CEO.
Patrick Raibaut, Venture Partner at Debaeque believes "this is a unique opportunity to invest in a
high-potential company that has an outstanding management team with proven track record in the
Internet and mobile services space. MusicStrands is targeting an untapped market, which is much
