MediaStrands, Inc. announces today the deployment of OpenStrands, Musisctrands' web services. OpenStrands enables mobile, web, and/or desktop software applications to seamlessly integrate with Musicstrands music discovery and recommendation technology. Song, album and artist recommendations, playlist, tagging, and community features, among others, will be available to developers., says Atakan Cetinsoy, Vice President, Business Products, at Musicstrands.

OpenStrands is a set of web services for developers interested in adding Musicstrands functionality to their non-commercial applications. OpenStrands services allow developers to access many of the same functions available through the Musicstrands website. Developers can call OpenStrands services programmatically from any language capable of issuing an HTTPS request and parsing the XML response. Accompanying SDK provides examples in various languages, including Java, C#, and Python.
